Among the best albums you may never have heard - I know, not exactly an orginal review title, but it s true. The songwriter/lead singer behind Niagara--Jeff Davis--was a member of a few earlier bands including The Balancing Act. This album is simply beautiful--and addictive. Just clean, clear, melodic rock and roll (folk tinged). Each song is gorgeous, but the songs Spanish Motorcycle and Alcatraz really shine. My favorite, though, is Hurricane Sabrina. If my CD was an LP, the whole album would be worn out, but especially that song--so well constructed and performed (and soulful), you just want to play it again and again. Pussycat, Long Slide Down, heck they re all great. This album, though, demonstrates the cruelty of the music/record biz. Niagara should be famous--really famous, there s more talent on this CD than many record labels have in their entire stable. But don t listen to me, listen to the CD.
